Q: Do
you have any favourite living composers? - from Bob
A: My favourite living composer would have to be Egberto Gismonti. He
is a pianist/guitarist from Brazil whose music reminds me of Villa
Lobos. Some of his recordings can be found on the ECM label. The best
example being ‘Solo’.
Q: Do you have a favourite drummer? - from Michael
A: I have been fortunate enough to have played with my favourite
drummers and call them friends: Vinnie Colaiuta, Manu Katche, Omar
Hakim, Jim Keltner and Keith Carlock. I am very much a fan of Tony
Williams and Elvin Jones.
Q: What's your favourite Sting song? Nowadays, what do you like the
most from the set-list? - from Andris
A: My favourite Sting song to play on this tour is
'Dead Man's Rope'.
